Feed float

A bird net holder with integrated spreader (spreader float).

The feeding float ensures that the feed always hits the center of the pen and directly over any pre-control equipment. The feeding float is 11m long and 7.5m wide. The spreader on the feeding float ensures even distribution of the feed inside the float. Heights range from 4m to 5.5m.

The feeding unit and, for example, the underwater camera are attached to the same structure, ensuring superior stability in the feed's impact point on the camera. A unique system has been created to ensure that the camera moves in sync with the drift of the pellets in 360 degrees. See separate schematic in the gallery below.

The spreader used is manufactured in electropolished acid-resistant steel. Combined with the fact that the spreader has no moving parts, this makes it virtually maintenance-free and ensures uninterrupted production. The spreaders have been tested for crush/dust on feed at Gildeskål Research Station, and they performed very well in this test, with 0.00% crush/dust.
